Peru... the birth place of the potato!

Walking through the markets here in Cuzco, I am amazed at all the different colors and shapes of the local potatos. I've been told there are over 1000 different varieties of potatoes in Peru.

This is a pretty typical meal for me with Betty and Manuel.  Rice with a sauce made with a type of Peruvian potatos grown only in Cuzco.  It was cooked with onion and a small amount of dried beef.  On top, a sweet potato.  Both Betty and Manuel and very good cooks.  Every meal is made from scratch and delicious!
